Job Description

Responsibilities

We are a fast-growing group of companies and we are looking for someone who genuinely loves people. Finding them, developing them, and keeping them.

This role sits across multiple companies in different industries. One week you are hiring a finance analyst, the next a creative lead, the next a tech specialist. You will need to learn fast, adapt quickly, and enjoy the variety. If the idea of never doing the same thing twice excites you, you will fit right in.

This is not a sit-and-process HR role. You will be in the thick of it: shaping how we hire, building the HR team from the ground up, running company events, and being a trusted voice between management and staff. You will be part of how this group grows and you will have real input into making it better as we go.

What You’ll Be Doing

Hiring across the group and hiring well.

  • We get over 1,000 applicants a month. Your job is to make sure the right ones make it through.
  • We hire across multiple companies in different industries. You need to understand each business well enough to find and assess the right people for each one.
  • Own monthly hiring targets across the group. Numbers and quality, not one without the other.
  • Interview candidates from entry-level all the way up to manager roles paying, you need sharp judgment at every level.
  • Write job posters that attract the right people and honestly represent who we are.
  • Suggest and improve phone interview questions as we learn what works and what does not.

Building and leading the HR team.

  • You will grow and lead a small HR team: Hiring the juniors who will work under you
  • Set their targets, review their work, review their calls, read their transcripts, and give real feedback.
  • Train them to represent the company genuinely, excited but honest, never overselling.
  • As the team grows, bring in contract HR staff where needed to support the load.
  • You are building something here, not inheriting a finished team.

Keeping the culture alive.

  • Understand our culture deeply enough to protect it as we grow across different companies and industries.
  • Plan and run internal events: team bonding, workshops, company trips. From idea to execution.
  • Spot early signs of disengagement or team friction and address them before they escalate.
  • You sit on the management side. You understand why decisions are made and you believe in the direction we are heading.
  • When staff are confused, frustrated, or resistant, you are the person who talks to them. With empathy, not spin.

Improving as we go.

  • Track and report on hiring pipeline, team performance, and culture health.
  • If something is not working, a process, a script, a system. Speak up and fix it. We want your input.
  • Maintain clean records candidate tracking, performance notes, event planning docs.

Who We’re Looking For

You do not need to have done all of this before. But you need to be the kind of person who wants to.

  • Around 3–4 years of working experience. In HR, people, culture, or something adjacent.
  • Comfortable hiring across different industries and role types, you learn fast and ask the right questions.
  • Strong communicator in English and Bahasa Malaysia written, on calls, and in person.
  • You have interviewed people before and you are good at reading them.
  • Organised enough to handle multiple open roles, an events calendar, and a growing team without dropping things.
  • You genuinely care about people but you also understand that business comes first and culture serves the business.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change. We are building as we go and we need someone who is energised by that, not unsettled.
  • You can handle difficult conversations with staff calmly and without taking sides against management.

Even better if:

  • You have a background in psychology, communications, or organisational behaviour.
  • You have worked in or studied internationally.
  • You have planned events or team activities before, big or small.

What You’re Joining

Cause Effect Digital is part of a group of fast-growing companies across different industries. We have delivered consistent revenue growth of 20%+ year-on-year, we are profitable, and we move fast. We are still at a size where the work you do is visible and felt across the whole organisation.

Over the past two years, the average salary increase across our team — excluding upper management — has been 40% ± 5%. We grow our people because we have to. The business depends on it. You will work closely with our founder and senior leadership. You will have a real seat at the table, real ownership of your function, and real room to grow alongside the group.

Our Culture

  • Our team averages around 27 years old, but what we value is maturity, people who are self-aware, accountable, and composed under pressure. Age is just a number.
  • We give direct feedback and we expect you to do the same. Nothing personal, always constructive.
  • Mentorship here is real. You will be invested in and developed — but we expect you to take it seriously. If we teach you something, we expect you to apply it. Proactive learners thrive here; people who wait to be spoon-fed do not.
  • The perks are real too free parking, stocked pantry, team trips, and regular activities. But we do not just organise events for the sake of it. We do them with intention, to build something that actually matters. As the Culture & People Manager, you will have real ownership over planning and shaping these moments.

Sound Like You?

We want someone who reads this and feels genuinely interested — not just in the role, but in being part of building something. If you are curious, adaptable, and you care about people and culture in a real way, we want to hear from you.
