About the Role

Kuala Lumpur is home to KPMG’s ASPAC Compliance Delivery Centre (“ACDC”), which provides Indirect Tax compliance services across the Asia Pacific region. The team is culturally diverse, bringing together professionals from various nationalities and backgrounds, supported by advanced technology, automation, and robust processes.

As a Tax Intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to regional tax compliance work, including cross-border engagements, while being coached and trained by experienced professionals. This internship offers the opportunity to build both technical tax expertise and regional collaboration exposure in a fast-paced professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of tax compliance deliverables (e.g., Corporate Income Tax, VAT/GST, Withholding Tax, Transfer Pricing support)
• Support data gathering, validation, and analysis for tax reporting
• Assist in account reconciliations and tax-related schedules
• Support online filing and reporting requirements
• Prepare accounting journals related to tax adjustments
• Assist with process improvements and compliance initiatives
• Coordinate documentation and workflow across teams and regions
• Support general administrative and tax documentation tasks
• Participate in KDN learning and development programmes

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• Basic understanding of accounting principles (P&L, Balance Sheet, Debits/Credits, Accruals)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookup functions)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good command of English (written and spoken)

Additional Advantage (Highly Preferred)

• Proficiency in Mandarin or Arabic to support regional client engagements
• Other Asian language capabilities (Thai, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese) are a plus
