As part of our growing Business Development division, we are seeking a self-driven and commercially sharp individual to spearhead client acquisition, manage strategic sales opportunities, and generate revenue through Accelskill Academy's (ASA) training courses and services. The ideal candidate will build a deep understanding of corporate clients' business needs and workforce challenges, positioning ASA's training solutions as the enabler for organizational efficiency and employee development across Malaysia and beyond.


B) Role Description

The Business Development Lead is responsible for driving business growth through strategic client acquisition, market expansion, partnership development, and revenue generation. This role is designed as a pipeline to lead the Sales function once the individual gains strong understanding of the company’s business model, services, and target markets.


The Business Development Lead is primarily responsible for selling ASA training courses and services to new and existing customers across corporate professionals. This role is responsible for identifying and managing sales opportunities, building an in-depth understanding of client business needs and drivers to position how ASA training and services can enable organizations to improve their employees’ efficiency.

Public Listed Companies (PLCs), Government-Linked Companies (GLCs), Multinational Companies (MNCs), Public Sector, and Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs)


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Market Expansion

· Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within corporate, PLC, MNC, GLC, public sector, and SME segments.

· Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and relationship building.

· Conduct market intelligence to identify trends, gaps, and new growth opportunities.

· Develop compelling proposals, presentations, and solution-based offerings tailored to client needs.


2. Client Relationship Management

· Act as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their strategic objectives and challenges.

· Ensure high customer satisfaction through structured follow-ups and strong account management.


3. Strategic Sales Execution

· Execute sales plans aligned with overall company growth strategy.

· Track opportunities from lead generation through to deal closure.


4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

· Work closely with the Special Officer, marketing and internal teams to align market feedback with service development.

· Participate in strategic discussions and contribute market insights to business planning.

· Represent the company at industry events, forums, exhibitions and networking sessions.


5. Reporting & Performance Tracking

· Maintain accurate CRM records and opportunity tracking.

· Provide regular pipeline updates, forecasts, and performance reports.

· Track conversion rates, deal values, and sales cycle effectiveness.

· Regular sales planning, forecast, meeting and proposal updates.


6. Leadership Development Pathway

· Gradually take on leadership responsibilities, including mentoring junior team members.

· Participate in sales process improvement initiatives.

· Support the future establishment and management of the sales team as part of succession planning.


D) Career Progression

This role is intentionally structured as a succession role with a clear pathway to become Senior Business Development Manager and to Head of Sales / Sales Director based on performance, business understanding, and leadership capability.


E) Candidate Qualifications

· Experience in heading a commercial business unit, preferably in trainings or related

· Good understanding and experience of working with the marketing function, including campaign planning and execution through multiple channels

· Commercial understanding and experience of the sales function, preferably both tele sales and field sales

· Good influencing / transverse management skills

· Good verbal and written communication skills and an eye for detail

· Be self-motivated, flexible, and have excellent time management/planning skills

· Able to work under pressure

· Willing to travel on business intensively

· An enthusiastic and committed team player

· Well presented with good public speaking

· Business development skills will be considered advantageous

· Proven experience in Lead Generation and developing strategic business partnerships

· Excellent Customer Service skills to ensure lasting client satisfaction and relationships

· Previous experience in business development, sales, or a related domain is advantageous

Candidates must:

· Have minimum 4 to 5 years of sales experience

· Possess own transport

· Be willing to travel when required

· Be able to reliably commute or relocate before starting

· Well-versed in sales forecasting and marketing strategy
