Project Coordinator
The Project Coordinator supports the design and project management teams to oversees the execution of interior design projects from post-design handover to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Handover & Planning
- Receive project handover from Interior Designer (ID)
- Review construction drawings, scope, and client requirements
- Create project timeline, milestones, and work schedule
- Identify risks and potential site constraints early
2. Client & Site Coordination
- Conduct site briefings with clients before work starts
- Be the main point of contact during renovation phase
- Manage client expectations and update progress regularly
- Handle feedback, concerns, and issue resolution
3. Contractor & Vendor Management
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Ensure all works follow drawings and specifications
- Monitor workmanship quality and site safety
- Manage deliveries, materials, and installation schedules
4. Site Supervision
- Conduct regular site inspections
- Track progress vs timeline
- Ensure compliance with design intent and technical drawings
- Identify and resolve on-site issues quickly
5. Budget & Variation Order (VO) Management
- Track project costs and ensure budget control
- Prepare and manage Variation Orders (VOs) during project stage
- Get client approval for any changes before execution
6. Timeline & Progress Tracking
- Ensure project milestones are met
- Flag delays early and propose solutions
- Coordinate multiple trades to avoid clashes
7. Project Completion & Handover
- Conduct final inspections (defects check)
- Ensure all works are completed to standard
- Arrange final client walkthrough
- Coordinate rectifications and touch-ups
Skills & Requirements
- Experience in interior design / renovation project management preferred
- Strong understanding of construction drawings & materials
- Excellent coordination & problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication (clients + contractors)
- Detail-oriented and highly organised
