Responsibilities

Job Title: Pastry Chef

Job Level: Junior to Senior

Department: F&B Operations

Salary Range (Full-time): $3,200 - $3,600

Schedule: 54hrs work week (2days off)

Overall Job Objectives:

The Pastry Chef is responsible for creating, preparing, and maintaining high-quality dessert and pastry offerings that complement the premium Korean-inspired concepts of TOFU G and Aifokato. This role ensures consistency, creativity, and operational excellence across all pastry and dessert production while upholding the brands' commitment to quality ingredients, visual presentation, food safety, and exceptional guest experience.

The Pastry Chef will play a key role in product innovation, recipe development, and daily production of desserts, pastries, baked goods, and seasonal menu items that align with the brands' premium positioning and Korean-inspired identity.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and produce pastries, desserts, baked goods, and dessert components according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, presentation, and portioning of all products.
  • Develop and introduce new dessert offerings, seasonal products, and promotional menu items aligned with the TOFU G and Aifokato brands.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor ingredient inventory, manage stock levels, and minimize product wastage.
  • Assist in cost control by optimizing ingredient usage and production efficiency.
  • Conduct quality checks on ingredients and finished products to ensure excellence and consistency.
  • Standardize recipes and production procedures to support operational consistency across outlets.
  • Collaborate with outlet management and operations teams to support smooth daily operations and product launches.
  • Train and guide junior kitchen team members on pastry preparation, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the dessert and gelato offerings.
  • Support production planning and ensure timely completion of daily preparation requirements.

Job Specifications:

  • Diploma, Certificate, or professional training in Pastry Arts, Baking, Culinary Arts, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in pastry, bakery, dessert production, or similar culinary roles in premium cafés, bakeries or dessert concepts.
  • Knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, dessert preparation, and food presentation.
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operational standards.
  • Experience in recipe development, menu innovation, and product standardization is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
  • Good inventory management and basic food cost control knowledge.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about pastry and dessert craftsmanship.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Key Deliverables:

  • Consistent production of high-quality pastries and desserts that meet brand standards.
  • Successful development and launch of seasonal or promotional dessert offerings.
  • Maintenance of food safety and hygiene compliance standards at all times.
  • Effective management of ingredient usage and minimization of wastage.
  • Accurate recipe documentation and standardization across products.
  • Achievement of product quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction targets.
  • Timely completion of daily production schedules and operational requirements.
  • Continuous contribution to menu innovation and enhancement of the TOFU G and Aifokato dessert experience.
