The Programme Trainer and Coordinator role with Total Wellness Initiative Singapore is dynamic and exciting, with high levels of project ownership and direct client impact.

Are you passionate about supporting the well-being of people around you? If you are empathetic and outgoing but have a keen eye for details when you get down to business, come join Total Wellness Initiative as Programme Trainer and Coordinator and support our community in developing core mental health knowledge and skills today!

Who We Are

Total Wellness Initiative Singapore (TWIS) is a social enterprise with a ground-up arm that aims to promote and encourage people to take the first step towards being more intentional in caring about their well-being.

At TWIS, we believe that education is an equaliser–one that can reduce stigma and empower individuals to prioritize their well-being. By improving mental health education, we equip people with the knowledge and skills to take proactive steps toward a healthier, more balanced, and happier life.

Through partnerships with organizations, schools, and community groups, we aim to raise awareness and foster the adoption of holistic and preventive wellness practices. Some organisations we have worked with include Govtech, A*Star, ShopBack, Aruba (Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company), General Assembly, HSBC, NTU, NUS, S3, community centres, and many more!

The Opportunity

A part of our educational outreach includes developing and delivering programmes about mental health, wellness, and self-care topics to educate the community. One of our flagship programmes is REST for WEllness–a mental health literacy programme co-developed with the IMH and REACH, which has been delivered to students at schools, ranging from secondary to university students in charge of supporting their peers.

We are currently hiring a full-time Programme Trainer and Coordinator to support us with the following responsibilities:

  • Deliver the REST for WEllness, as well as other programmes, to diverse audiences in schools and organisations as a Trainer. You will receive training to ensure that you are well-equipped.
  • Coordinate training schedules with teachers from Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges, and other partners and prepare relevant programme materials and logistics to ensure that the programmes run smoothly.
  • Conduct research into psychology and wellness topics to develop and create wellness-related materials and programmes.
  • Develop fluency of market trends to gain a deeper understanding of wellness in the context of Singapore.
  • Support with operational tasks, which include and are not limited to, drafting proposals, creating reports, recruiting and managing staff and volunteers, managing schedules and tasks, and other admin-related work.
  • Support our wellness-related initiatives by connecting and working with our partners, vendors, and the community and kick-start your personal networking experience.

What You Will Experience

Here at TWIS, we value our people and believe in nurturing them to learn and grow. If you are selected, here are some learning experiences you can look forward to:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of mental health and specific mental illnesses, as well as avenues for seeking help, methods for coping with stress and peer support skills you can use to support friends who are going through a difficult time.
  • Learn and practice your skills in teaching and facilitating discussions, including how to adapt to different audiences, how to ask generative questions, how to manage the energy of a small group and involve quieter people in the group’s discussion.
  • Contribute to creating positive change by helping more youths and community members access practical knowledge to improve their mental well-being.

Who We Are Looking For

While you will be trusted with important responsibilities (no coffee making or erasing the whiteboard!), it's fine if you don't have the skills yet. We are looking for a personable, detail-oriented candidate with an interest in research and presentations. Major bonus to candidates who embody the TWIS values and principles:

2. Ownership

When you take a task on, you take responsibility for it.

3. Commitment to Quality

You like to do things well when you do them, and are always looking to learn and improve.

4. Trust and Integrity

5. Teamwork

You value relationships and make the effort to spend time listening and befriending other people. You're not afraid to ask for help or provide it when you need to.

All candidates must be prepared to go through at least one face-to-face interview.
