We are seeking a hands-on, execution-driven NPI Engineer to lead critical deliverables across each phase of the new product development process, from prototype builds to production ramp. This role collaborates closely with Design, Engineering, Quality, and Factory teams to ensure that our products are designed for manufacturability and delivered at scale, meeting the right quality and cost targets.
Responsibilities
- Drive or support end-to-end NPI execution from concept through EVT/DVT/PVT to mass production
- Participate in design reviews, flag DFM/DFX risks, and ensure designs are production-ready
- Interpret mechanical drawings and tolerances; ensure compatibility with factory capabilities
- Coordinate tooling, jigs, fixtures, material readiness, and line layout with suppliers and factory teams
- Manage build execution across validation stages; monitor part availability, track yield and cycle times, escalate blockers
- Lead or support structured root cause analysis and corrective actions for build failures or quality issues
- Validate manufacturing process readiness: SOPs, operator training, inspection criteria, and CTQ checkpoints
- Align across internal and external teams on deliverables, timelines, and issue closure
- Maintain NPI documentation, track changes, and contribute to internal playbooks
- Support or lead ramp-readiness reviews and ensure a clean handover to sustaining ops
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
- 3–5 years of experience in new product introduction, product industrialization, or factory engineering
- Strong understanding of DFM, DFMEA, GD&T, and production tooling/assembly processes
- Hands-on experience managing pilot build execution and factory coordination, including documentation and issue resolution
- Comfortable managing build execution under guidance and eager to grow into greater project ownership
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX); ERP/MRP system familiarity a plus
- Fluent in English and Mandarin (for supplier engagement and factory coordination)
- Strong communicator with a structured approach to build tracking and issue resolution
- Willingness to travel for builds, supplier reviews, and issue investigation
