Job Purpose:
- In the Cluster Delivery Organization, Business Specialists, Business Experts, Engineer Specialists, Engineers, and Product Owners work together in a team. Agile methods help employees perform their functions by enabling a fast and flexible response to changing conditions and customer needs through an iterative approach and continuous development of new solutions.

- The engineer has a basic technical orientation and acts in the role of the Cell Member.

- The engineer is used where his knowledge and experience is needed. It is therefore flexible in terms of use in different cells and chapters, even across cluster boundaries.
Responsibilities:
- Taking over technical responsibility for products including technical documentation and governance topics
- Continuously improving the global standards and review the architecture to be in line with the bank’s strategy
- Very good knowledge of data backup and archiving technologies. Scope is Rubrik and Versity ScoutAM.
- Knowledge of Veritas NetBackup/Alta Data protection, Veritas Alta View / NetBackup IT Analytics is a plus.
- Recording of requirements, analysis, consulting, technical support regarding possible data backup solutions and coordination during implementation.
- Plan and deploy required backup and archiving capabilities and underlying hard-/software versions
- Development of customized solutions based on standardized data backup/archiving services and continuous development of implemented solution.
- Programming of scripts using REST API & GraphQL API to automate the system sequence
- Manage release and patch demand for the implemented data backup systems
- Identify optimization options in particular with regard to (high) availability, performance management, information flows, disaster recovery and security to ensure stable, very low-disruption operations
- Evaluation and analysis of system environments with regards to technical feasibility (PoC) as well as cost-effectiveness and efficiency in the form of TCO, business case and benchmarking (market comparison)
- Plan and control replacement and development activities in the data backup systems
- Analysis of existing and possible future DC-locations of the backup infrastructure along with conception and support of the technical implementation in the event of a change of location.
- Strong communication skills on all levels from customers to senior management
- Base understanding and experience in administration/monitoring of data backup and archiving products and of the ITIL ITSM processes
- Readiness for on-call and out of hours support
Skills Qualification and requirements:
As a Data Backup & Restore Engineer with a focus on Automation, you should have:
- Very good knowledge of the Python programming language
- Very good knowledge of implementing REST & GraphQL APIs. Advantage is the knowledge of the GraphQL API from Rubrik as well as the ServiceNow API
- Strong knowledge of Ansible
- Knowledge of the Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) is a plus
- DataBackup skills in enterprise environments, especially Rubrik and Versity ScoutAM. Knowledge of Veritas NetBackup is a plus
- Strong Ansible and Python programming skills
- Good knowledge of the use of Red Hat Linux and windows operating systems
- Very good ability to cooperate, high resilience and flexibility, especially with regards to agile working methods
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Self-initiative in the development of measures for technical improvements and problem solving
- Coordinate to solve complex disruptions in the data backup and archiving environment
- Solution orientation, personal engagement, activity, critical thinking and leadership mindset
- Advanced communication skills in English, spoken and written (German is an advantage)
Education:
University/University of Applied Sciences or equivalent professional experience
At least 5 years of professional experience
Experience in IT operations; has own responsibility for systems and/or complex processes
