About the role

We are looking for a skilled AS400 Developer to maintain, enhance, and modernize business-critical applications developed on the IBM i (AS400) platform using RPG, RPGLE, CL. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on development experience, the ability to understand complex legacy code, and should be capable of delivering enhancements, bug fixes, and change requests with minimal supervision.

Job Requirements.

• Development and maintenance of AS400 applications using RPG, RPGLE, and COBOL400

• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and code reviews to team members

• Design, manage, and optimize DB2 databases on the AS400 platform

• Collaborate with business and banking stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions

• Ensure application performance, security, and compliance with regulatory standards

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions

• Support application enhancements, upgrades, and technical documentation

Job Description:

Minimum 4+ years of experience in AS400 development.

Design, code, and test modules using RPG, RPGLE, CLP, and embedded SQL on the AS400 platform.

Work on business-driven application enhancements, scope analysis, and effort estimation.

Analyze and debug legacy RPG/CL code and rewrite or modernize as required.

Query and manipulate DB2/400 data structures, perform file-level changes, and write embedded SQL logic.

Perform unit and integration testing; fix bugs and regression issues identified during QA/UAT.

Update technical specs, program flowcharts, and process documentation.

Collaborate with QA, business analysts, and L2 support for defect triage and testing assistance.
