A remote-first Google Cloud consulting partner operating across the Asia-Pacific region is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect for a 3 month contract engagement to be embedded with a major banking client in Singapore. This is a hands-on technical delivery role working directly alongside the client's stakeholders and Google engineers on the ground. You will operate with confidence and independence across architecture, data, and AI workstreams, serving as a trusted technical advisor and helping to translate complex cloud challenges into production-ready solutions that drive measurable business impact.

Based in Singapore, you'll be able to work from home 3–4 days of the week and travel to the client's office 1–2 days for in-person project collaboration. Success will be measured by the delivery of scalable cloud architectures, the adoption of best practices by client teams, and the successful deployment of data and AI solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

Key Activities

• Technical Advisory: Serve as a trusted technical advisor to banking client stakeholders, translating complex cloud and data challenges into practical, production-ready solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Cloud Architecture Design: Design and deliver scalable cloud enterprise architectures with a focus on data pipelines, ML workflows, and AI solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate directly with Google product teams and client engineering teams to build, test, and deploy tailored solutions into production environments.
• Team Coaching: Coach client teams on feature extraction, data validation, model monitoring, and machine learning best practices, building internal capability and sustainability.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct technical reviews and architecture assessments, ensuring reliability, performance, and engineering excellence across all deliverables.
• Knowledge Sharing: Develop and share best practice recommendations, tutorials, sample code, and documentation to support client learning and future project delivery.

Your Background

Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience demonstrating advanced cloud and software engineering capabilities.
• 6–10 years of hands-on experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and delivering end-to-end customer projects to production.
• Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (Python, Java, Go, C or C++) with strong software design fundamentals and demonstrated coding capability.
• Solid experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts including practical understanding of distributed data frameworks (Apache Beam, Hadoop, Spark, or equivalent).
• Fluent English communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-regional engineering teams in a collaborative environment.
• Singapore-based and eligible to work in Singapore without employment pass sponsorship.

Desirable:

• Google Cloud Professional Architect certification or equivalent industry recognised cloud architecture qualification.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or XGBoost, and familiarity with recommendation engines and ML data pipelines.
• Knowledge of data warehouse architectures and reporting/analytics environments (BigQuery, Looker, Hive, MapReduce, Flume, or similar).
• Prior experience working directly with or within financial services clients; familiarity with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code practices.
