Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Description & Requirements


As a Baker, you will be responsible for the daily production of bakery goods, ensuring that all products are baked to perfection, consistent with the company’s quality standards. You will assist in the preparation of doughs, batters, and other bakery ingredients while adhering to sanitation and safety guidelines. This is a position with opportunities for growth, where you will develop foundational baking skills and contribute to the overall success of the bakery team.


Key Responsibilities:


Production & Baking:

- Prepare and bake a variety of bakery items including breads, cookies, granola, and crackers

- Follow standardized recipes and instructions to ensure product consistency and quality.

- Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and ensure products are baked to the right texture and flavor.


Order Fulfilment:

- Assist Shift Leader with the daily order fulfilment (includes slicing and packing breads)

- Assist with any adhoc duties assigned


Ingredient Preparation:

- Measure, mix, and prepare dough, batters, fillings, glazes, and toppings as directed.

- Assist with scaling and mixing ingredients according to recipes and production needs.


Quality Control:

- Inspect products during and after baking to ensure quality standards are met in terms of taste, texture, and appearance.

- Notify the Head Baker or supervisor of any issues related to product quality or equipment functionality.


Sanitation & Safety:

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations.

- Ensure work areas, machinery, and equipment are clean, organized and adhere to applicable safety rules and housekeeping requirements.

- Ensure that food handling and hygiene regulations are followed in accordance with standards.


Teamwork & Collaboration:

- Assist senior bakers and other team members in various tasks as needed.

- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for product improvement or new items.

- Provide support to the Head Baker in special projects and new product testing when required.


Inventory Management:

- Monitor ingredient stock levels and notify the Head Baker of any shortages or needs for restocking.

- Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing bakery ingredients and supplies in a timely and organized manner.


Shift Patterns:

-12 hours 7AM - 7PM

- 4 days on, 3 days rest, 3 days rest, 4 days on recurring
