Role Description The Kitchen Intern role is an on-site internship based in Petaling Jaya. The intern will assist in daily kitchen operations, including basic food preparation, ingredient handling, simple cooking tasks under supervision, and plating support. Responsibilities also include maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation areas, washing and organizing kitchen tools and equipment, and helping with inventory checks, labeling, and storage of ingredients. The Kitchen Intern will follow food safety standards, support meal service for residents and guests, and collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure efficient and timely service. The role provides hands-on learning in a professional kitchen environment, with guidance from experienced culinary staff.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation, and an interest in culinary arts.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn food safety, hygiene standards, and proper handling of kitchen equipment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow instructions, maintain attention to detail, and uphold cleanliness and organization standards.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift or move kitchen items as needed.
• Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a culinary, hospitality, or related program is an advantage.
• Previous exposure to a commercial or institutional kitchen is beneficial but not required.
