OVERVIEW
RESPONSIBILITIES
REQUIREMENTS

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a global leader in the meal kit delivery industry that helps millions of customers cook healthy, homemade meals without the stress of meal planning or grocery shopping.

As part of Zoolatech’s distributed engineering team, you will support a critical Slack Enterprise+ migration initiative. The client is migrating 10,000+ users from Slack Enterprise Select to Enterprise+, with a limited migration window, expected degraded mode, and no rollback option.

This is a high-impact technical role focused on reducing migration risk and ensuring business continuity across a complex enterprise environment. You will own the Technical Workstream end-to-end, assessing Slack apps, workflows, custom integrations, and platform dependencies to identify risks and define the right testing and validation approach.

The role requires strong independence, technical judgment, and operational discipline. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, app and workflow owners, and Slack’s Professional Services team, translating technical uncertainty into clear risk classifications, runbooks, and execution plans.

By joining Zoolatech, you become part of a strong engineering community while working closely with a mature global product organization that values ownership, autonomy, and long-term collaboration.

  • Own the technical workstream for the Slack Enterprise+ migration end-to-end.

  • Assess Slack apps, workflows, bots, webhooks, and custom integrations for migration compatibility and technical risk.

  • Review custom app code across different languages and frameworks to identify potential issues.

  • Define app compatibility classifications and make independent technical risk judgments.

  • Design the testing methodology from scratch, including smoke tests for hard downtime and degraded-mode scenarios.

  • Prepare detailed runbooks that can be executed by another engineer under time pressure.

  • Define sandbox configuration and validation approach for migration testing.

  • Coordinate with 100+ app and workflow owners to gather context, clarify dependencies, and validate migration readiness.

  • Work directly with Slack’s Professional Services team and translate vendor guidance into practical technical actions.

  • Explain technical implications clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Support vendor outreach approach from a technical perspective where needed.

  • Operate independently in a high-ambiguity environment with strong ownership and accountability.

  • Deep understanding of Slack platform architecture, including:

    • Slack Web API

    • Events API

    • RTM API

    • Webhooks

    • Workflows

    • Bot tokens

    • OAuth scopes

    • Slack apps vs. legacy integrations

  • Experience with enterprise Slack administration or Slack app development at scale.

  • Strong ability to assess custom app code and make practical risk-based decisions.

  • Experience designing testing approaches without complete vendor support or predefined methodology.

  • Ability to create clear, actionable technical runbooks and operational documentation.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to operate independently, make decisions in ambiguous situations, and take full ownership of outcomes.

  • Experience coordinating across many stakeholders, teams, or application owners.

  • Experience with enterprise platform migrations, especially SaaS migrations.

  • Familiarity with workflow automation platforms such as Slack Workflow Builder, Zapier, or custom workflow integrations.

  • Experience with SSO or SCIM provisioning in enterprise environments.

  • Understanding of food production, logistics, or distribution center operations.

  • Previous experience supporting business-critical systems where workflow failures may have operational impact.

  • This is not a Project Manager role. The TPM owns timelines, stakeholder communications, and risk sign-off coordination.

  • This role is not responsible for employee communications, manager briefings, or broader vendor/partner notification strategy.

  • This role is not an on-call position for Slack incidents unrelated to the migration.
