This role is responsible for sourcing, qualifying, negotiating, and managing subcontractors for renewable energy EPC projects, with a primary focus on utility-scale solar developments. The position ensures the timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of civil works, structural installation, electrical works, and associated services to support successful project execution.
Job Description
- Manage the full RFQ/RFP process and support the creation and rollout of sourcing strategies.
- Conduct basic market studies, evaluate suppliers, and analyse spending data to uncover cost‑saving opportunities.
- Track market developments and pricing trends, providing summaries to guide procurement decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure sourcing activities align with operational requirements.
- Assist with pricing and contract discussions, helping draft and review agreements with direction from senior team members.
- Maintain organised contract records, monitor renewal timelines, and follow up on compliance matters.
- Facilitate communication between users and suppliers, gathering requirements and supporting supplier evaluations.
- Provide guidance on procurement procedures to ensure adherence to company policies.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, participate in review meetings, and follow up on action items.
- Keep accurate documentation for audits and reporting, and prepare routine updates on savings, compliance, and supplier performance.
- Contribute to updating procurement SOPs and support process improvement initiatives.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by supervisors.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Executive, Strategic Sourcing should have:
- Strong basic understanding of sourcing and procurement processes.
- Able to analyse data and identify opportunities or issues.
- Communicates clearly with both suppliers and internal teams.
- Organised, detail‑oriented, and reliable with documentation and deadlines.
- Proactive, adaptable, and willing to support continuous improvements.
- Holds a relevant degree such as Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Required Skills & Qualifications (Typical Profile)
- Experience: 5+ years in procurement/subcontracts/engineering, preferably in EPC, construction, or renewable energy. Hands-on experience on large-scale projects.
- Education: Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent. Certifications like CIPS, PMP, or construction-related quals are a plus.
- Preferred: MEP background or experience handling MEP subcontract packages.
- Language: Cantonese / Mandarin are plus.
- Soft skills: Negotiation, analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management. Proficiency in tools like MS Office, ERP, Procore, Viewpoint, or similar.
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
