Job Description

Responsibilities

The Quality Control Officer is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality and safety of food products throughout the production process. This role involves inspecting raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products to ensure they meet company standards and comply with food safety regulations. The QC Officer works closely with production, sanitation, and quality assurance teams to prevent defects and maintain high product standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Inspection:
    Inspect raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods for quality and safety.
    Conduct visual checks, measurements, and tests at different stages of production.
  • Sampling & Testing:
    Collect samples from production lines for laboratory or in-house testing.
    Perform basic tests (e.g., pH, temperature, moisture, weight, appearance) as required.
  • Compliance & Standards:
    Ensure all products meet company specifications, customer requirements, and food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, HALAL, ISO).
    Report any deviations or non-conformities to the QC Supervisor or Quality Manager.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Record inspection results, maintain QC logs, and complete checklists accurately.
    Report and document any quality issues, corrective actions, or rejections.
  • Hygiene & Sanitation Monitoring:
    Monitor cleanliness of production areas and equipment.
    Verify proper sanitation practices and ensure cross-contamination controls are followed.
  • Support Audits & Investigations:
    Assist in internal and external audits.
    Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality complaints or product recalls.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Food Science/Food Tech, or related field.
  • Fresh grads or 1–3 years of QC or QA experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000).
  • Has Food Hygiene Cert,
  • Attention to detail and good record-keeping skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
