Job Description

Responsibilities

Business Development Manager, Power

What awaits you:

  • You drive the development, piloting, validation and scaling of strategies for global business development for your assigned business model and region.
  • You define and prioritize target markets, quantify business potential (e.g. addressable market, revenue, contribution margin) and derive clear KPIs.
  • You generate demand by communicating the customer benefits of MR’s offering to partner networks and target customers, including specification and lobbying activities, especially in new energy segments, e.g. renewables, data centers, battery storage, as well as advanced applications like HVDC systems, phase shifting transformers, shunt reactors, and other emerging technologies.
  • You collaborate with existing Sales network to acquire pilot projects and flagship customers and provide guidance to achieve business goals.
  • You act as a market and industry expert by creating and delivering convincing presentations and training sessions at trade fairs, expert forums, customer events and internal meetings.
  • You maintain and expand relationships with key regional customers and internal stakeholders, support operational processing (e.g. contracts, prices, references, partner and service agreements) and feed structured market feedback into product development, portfolio definition and 4P decisions for your projects.

What you bring to the table:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, engineering or another industry‑relevant field, ideally with a focus on energy technology.
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in business development and/or sales in the energy or power sector and bring a strong technical understanding of customer applications and ecosystems.
  • You think analytically and entrepreneurially, use data to make sound decisions, and are confident in planning, evaluating and tracking markets, competitors, products, trends and KPIs.
  • You communicate complex technical and market‑related topics clearly and convincingly to different audiences (from technicians and operators to management and OEMs) and work effectively with international, virtual teams and customers.
  • You are business fluent in English (additional foreign language skills are an advantage), are willing and able to travel globally and work independently and autonomously.
  • You see yourself as a pioneering, results‑oriented simplifier who develops bold product visions, prioritizes and scales what really matters, and asserts your ideas with confidence.
