Job Description

Responsibilities

Industry: Electrical Contracting / Construction
Department: Procurement & Supply Chain
Reports To: Procurement Manager / Project Manager

Position Summary

The Procurement Executive is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, coordinating, and managing materials, equipment, and services required for electrical contracting projects. The role ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency, compliance with project specifications, and effective coordination between suppliers, site teams, engineers, and management.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Purchasing

  • Source and procure electrical materials, equipment, tools, and subcontractor services.
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers and compare pricing, quality, lead time, and technical compliance.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure approval procedures are followed.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and supplier agreements.
  • Monitor market pricing trends for electrical and construction materials.

Material Coordination

  • Coordinate with project/site teams to understand material requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to site to avoid project delays.
  • Track purchase orders, delivery status, and outstanding items.
  • Coordinate with warehouse/store personnel regarding stock availability and inventory levels.

Supplier Management

  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and delivery reliability.
  • Identify and develop alternative suppliers to improve competitiveness and reduce risk.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate procurement records, quotations, invoices, delivery orders, and purchase documentation.
  • Ensure purchased items comply with project specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
  • Assist in preparing procurement reports, cost summaries, and budget tracking.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.

Cost Control

  • Assist in cost comparison and budgeting exercises.
  • Monitor procurement expenses to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Support project teams in minimizing wastage and material over-ordering.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of procurement experience, preferably in electrical contracting, construction, or M&E industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical materials and construction procurement processes is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Knowledge

  • Electrical cables, switchgear, DBs, conduits, lighting, containment systems, and M&E materials.
  • Construction project workflow and site coordination.
  • Vendor evaluation and contract administration.

Working Conditions
