Job Description

Responsibilities

About the role

We are a busy small-animal clinic with a team of 5 vets and 10 support staff, and we are looking for a motivated Junior Veterinary Nurse to grow with us. You will gain hands-on clinical experience from day one — working alongside our experienced vets and nurses, learning at pace, and making a genuine difference to every patient and owner you meet.

No prior veterinary experience is required. We offer structured, on-the-job training and will invest in your development.

What you will learn and do

  • Animal handling and patient ward care
  • IV catheter placement and blood collection
  • IV fluid setup and medication dispensing
  • Radiograph and ultrasound positioning
  • Surgical assistance and post-op monitoring
  • Client communication and front-of-house support

Our equipment and caseload

We see dogs and cats across a genuinely varied caseload, including acupuncture for pain management. Our clinic is well-equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, IDEXX in-house blood analysers, IM3 dental machine, dental X-ray, and a Tonopen.

Working hours

5-day work week including Saturdays · 44 hours per week (inclusive of breaks) · No Sundays · No public holidays · No overnight on-call

Why join us

  • Structured training across all core nursing competencies — no experience needed to apply
  • Small, close-knit team with genuine mentorship from experienced clinicians
  • Lovely, loyal clientele and an interesting, varied caseload
  • Modern, well-maintained equipment you will use every day
  • Predictable schedule — no Sundays, no public holidays, no overnight duties
  • Easily accessible — 5 minutes' walk from Tiong Bahru and Havelock MRT

Who we are looking for

  • A genuine love for animals — particularly dogs and cats
  • Eager to learn and willing to commit for at least one year
  • Calm, reliable, and comfortable in a physically active environment
  • Good communication skills and a client-friendly manner
  • Prior animal care or handling experience is a plus, but not required
