Role Description The Server Support Engineer is a full-time hybrid role based in Singapore River, with flexibility to work from home part of the week. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting production and development servers, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and patching. The engineer will diagnose and resolve server-related incidents, investigate performance issues, and escalate complex problems as needed. Daily tasks include responding to support tickets, performing routine health checks, maintaining system documentation, and collaborating with network, security, and development teams to ensure stable and secure environments. The role also involves contributing to process improvements, automation initiatives, and capacity planning to support HiRE’s growing platform.

Qualifications

• Strong Server Support and Technical Support skills, with experience managing physical and virtual server environments.
• Proficiency in Troubleshooting complex server and infrastructure issues, including root cause analysis and incident resolution.
• Solid understanding of Operating Systems (e.g., Linux, Windows Server) including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Network Security principles, including firewalls, access controls, and best practices for securing server environments.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, ELK, or similar) to track system performance and availability.
• Experience with virtualization and/or cloud platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly beneficial.
• Ability to document procedures, configurations, and incident resolutions clearly and accurately.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid working environment.
• Relevant technical certification or a degree/diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is an advantage.
• Interest in or alignment with sustainability and environmentally responsible technology practices is a plus.
