About the Role

As the Business Controller, you will drive the business to develop and implement strategic direction and to provide key insights from the financial perspective to business performance, risks/opportunities, and risk mitigation to ensure the business achieves or exceeds financial plan for within the Group in the markets we operate in.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To drive Valiram Group’s brands and business unit to achieve targeted sales and operating income
  • To improve product mix and to drive cost improvement
  • To monitor and control spending to ensure it is within the budget
  • To monitor and improve business unit visibility of financial improvement areas for cost control with the Principal and key suppliers
  • To revise budget as business goes along to achieve forecast and trim respective cost lines accordingly.
  • Monitor and report budget vs actual on monthly basis
  • Review invoices from principal against budgeted purchase orders from Principal and highlight discrepancy
  • Margin review to ensure profitability and area for cost improvement
  • Review marketing events against marketing plan and track spend to monitor effectiveness


Key Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess a Degree in Accounting & Finance / Professional qualification in ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in finance and business controlling environment
  • Good Interpersonal & communication skill
  • Strong business acumen
  • Able to manage complex and competing priorities
  • Analytical and business driven
  • Pleasant and able to collaborate and work in team
  • Fluent English, both in written and spoken. Knowledge of other language(s) is an added advantage.
