This role supports the CFO in leading strategic finance initiatives through effective financial reporting, group consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis to drive sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
1. Group Financial Reporting & Bursa Support
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial reports, annual reports, and supporting schedules in compliance with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements.
- Draft management reports, Board papers, Audit Committee papers, financial analysis reports, and presentation materials.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, the company secretary, and internal stakeholders on reporting matters.
- Ensure compliance with MFRS, corporate governance, and Group reporting policies.
2. Group Consolidation
- Handle full set group consolidation for local and overseas subsidiaries.
- Perform consolidation adjustments, including intercompany eliminations, unrealized profit eliminations, foreign currency transactions, and consolidation journals.
- Review consolidation workings and drive continuous improvements in group reporting processes.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing activities.
3. Financial Analysis & Business Partnering
- Perform detailed financial and operational analysis across retail, wholesale, ecommerce, and regional operations.
- Analyze gross profit margin, outlet performance, inventory movements, operating costs, and profitability trends.
- Identify business risks, cost optimization opportunities, and operational improvement areas.
- Support management decision-making through data-driven insights and reporting.
4. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning exercises.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analyses.
- Collaborate closely with operations teams to understand business performance drivers.
5. Reporting Automation & Process Improvement
- Support enhancements of the management dashboard and reporting automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with operational finance and business analyst team on reporting improvements.
- Experience in Power BI is an advantage, but not mandatory.
6. Leadership & Team Support
- Provide guidance and technical support to finance team members on consolidation and reporting matters.
- Assist in strengthening controls and finance SOPs.
- Support ad-hoc assignments and strategic finance initiatives as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/MICPA/CIMA).
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant working experience in audit and/or listed company environment.
- Strong knowledge in group consolidation and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements is an added advantage.
- Experience in retail, trading, or a multi-entity environment is an added advantage.
- Exposure in Power BI, dashboard reporting, or data analytics tools is preferred
- Strong analytical, presentation, and report drafting skills.
- Independent, detail-oriented, and able to work closely with senior management.
