About Our Client
Our client is an Australia-based Finance Broking & Advisory firm specializing in residential, commercial, and business financing solutions for self-employed borrowers and SME clients.

The company is expanding its offshore team in Malaysia to support SME and Commercial Credit Analysis operations within the Australian finance market.

Position Overview

The Commercial Credit Analyst will support the loan origination and submission process by conducting financial analysis, researching lender policies, preparing servicing assessments, and assisting with end-to-end loan processing.

This role is ideal for someone analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in financial or credit analysis within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysing key documents provided by the client and accountants – including financial statements, transaction statements, loan statements, tax returns, and pay slips.
  • Accurately handling and transposing this data into Excel to structure the data to derive important figures and run analysis.
  • To research lender policy and process to understand how the client’s circumstances and documentation will be interpreted by different banks and lenders. Importantly, these policies and processes need to be interpreted so that the data are analysed in a way that achieves the best result for the client.
  • To run serviceability analysis and determine a client’s borrowing capacity. This includes conducting “scenario testing” by varying different assumptions, levers and inputs to understand what options are available to a client from most conservative to optimistic.
  • To report the policy research and servicing results accurately in proprietary tools, and in written client advice to the client.
  • To work with the broking team to recommend the most optimal outcome for the client whether it be based on pricing, speed, borrowing capacity, certainty or other outcomes. This includes understanding, analysing and reporting on risks of different credit outcomes.
  • Preparing scenario write-ups for consideration by lender BDM’s and credit teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–6 years of experience in accounting, banking, credit analysis, or financial services.
  • Strong financial analysis and Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Experience in lending or commercial finance is preferred.
  • Exposure to Australian lending is an advantage but not required.
  • Cantonese or Mandarin speaking is a plus, but not mandatory.
