Job Description

Responsibilities

Your Role:

As an Analog IC Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of analog and mixed-signal ICs specifically for MCU targeting both low power and high performance industrial applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, low-power solutions for a variety of applications. Your expertise in analog design, simulation, and layout will be crucial in driving the success of our products.

  • Architecture: Design analog architecture from product specifications. Discuss with product manager on potential performance of each architecture to meet product specifications requirements. Define SPEC for analog circuits based on product specifications.
  • Circuit Design: Design and develop analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, including DCDC, voltage regulators LDO, bandgap, PLLs, ADC, DAC, oscillator, OPA, comparator, and other analog circuits.
  • Simulation and Modelling: Perform circuit simulations using tools like SPICE, Spectre, or similar to verify circuit functionality and performance to meet all the PVT corners. AMS co-simulation with digital and software running AI workload to ensure sustainable power at max frequency.
  • Test : All IP must include feature to support Characterisation , testing and validation of IP for silicon testing at the SoC top level at wafer level and package testing, align to product requirements.
  • Models : Develop models ( VerilogA or Verilog) for accurate circuit behaviour to support SoC top levelverification strategy.
  • Documentation: Create concise design document of the architecture choice, design implementation , and functionality of each transistors in the circuit with supporting simulation result for design reviews
  • Layout Collaboration: Work closely with layout engineers to ensure optimal layout of analog circuits, providing guidance on critical layout techniques to minimize parasitics and enhance performance.
  • Validation and Testing: Support post-silicon validation and characterization of designed circuits. Analyze test data to identify issues and refine circuit designs.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with digital design, system, and process engineers to ensure seamless integration of analog and mixed-signal components into larger systems.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in analog design techniques and technologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of design methodologies.

Your Skills and Experiences:

Education:

  • Master's degree or above in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • More than 3 years of experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design. Work experience requirements may be relaxed for candidates with strong capabilities.
  • Experience in tape out and mass production is preferred.
  • Experience in designing of MCUs, Security chips, BLEs is preferred.
  • Technical skills you will need to have:

    • Proficiency in analog design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Mentor Graphics, or similar.
    • Strong understanding of analog circuit principles, including noise analysis, stability, phase noise and feedback systems.
    • Experience with layout techniques and the ability to collaborate effectively with layout engineers.
    • Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and process technology.
    • Hands-on experience in designing more than one of the following circuits: ADCs, DACs, PLLs, OSC, bandgap bias circuits, regulators, DCDC, OPA, comparator, and other analog circuits.
    • Lab testing skills to evaluate the prototype unit to the design specification.

    Preferred experience you have:

    • Knowledge of power management ICs.
    • Familiarity with design for reliability and manufacturability (DFM/DFR) practices.
    • Experience with lab equipment for testing and debugging analog circuits.

    Other Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
