Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Singapore. The Mechanical Engineer will design, analyze, and improve mechanical systems and equipment used in mechanical construction and related engineering projects. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing CAD models and technical drawings, performing calculations, and ensuring designs comply with safety, quality, and industry standards. The role involves supporting project planning and execution, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical guidance during installation, testing, and commissioning. The Mechanical Engineer will also contribute to troubleshooting equipment issues, optimizing existing systems, and participating in continuous improvement and R&D activities to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with experience applying core principles to industrial, oil and gas, or petrochemical projects.
- Proficiency in Machine Design and related mechanical component/system design methods.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D drawings and 3D modeling.
- Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, coordination with stakeholders, and progress tracking.
- Experience or interest in Research and Development (R&D), including testing, data analysis, and implementation of engineering improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work safely in on-site industrial environments.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and with site personnel.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations in the oil and gas or petrochemical sector is an advantage.
