Job Description

Responsibilities

1. Google Workspace (GWS) Core Skills

  • GWS Admin Console proficiency (user management, groups, domains, security)
  • Knowledge of GWS apps (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meet, Calendar)
  • GWS licensing models and billing structures

2. Migration-Specific Skills

  • Experience with migration tools such as:
  • Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Exchange (GWMME)
  • Google Workspace Migration Tool (GWMT)
  • Third-party tools (CloudM, BitTitan, TransVault, etc.)
  • Mailbox, calendar, and contact migration
  • File migration from OneDrive/SharePoint to Google Drive/Shared Drives
  • Understanding of identity and access management during migration

3. Proof of Concept (PoC) Design & Execution

  • Scope definition and planning
  • Pilot user selection and configuration
  • Test plan creation for core workloads (mail, calendar, collaboration tools)
  • Performance benchmarking and documentation
  • User feedback gathering and analysis

4. Scripting & Automation

  • Google Apps Script
  • PowerShell (for M365 environment before migration)
  • Python (for API integrations or reporting tasks)

5. API & Integration Knowledge

  • Google Workspace APIs (Admin SDK, Gmail API, Drive API)
  • OAuth 2.0 and service accounts
  • Integration with third-party SaaS applications

6. Security and Compliance

  • Google Vault and data retention policies
  • M365 to GWS compliance mapping
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) configuration
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) policies in GWS

7. Identity & Authentication

  • Google Cloud Identity and SSO configuration
  • Directory sync tools like Google Cloud Directory Sync (GCDS)
  • Authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, etc.)

8. Day 2 Support & Monitoring

  • GWS Admin troubleshooting
  • End-user support for Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meet
  • Monitoring tools (Google Admin audit logs, security center)
  • Change management and training for users
  • Ticketing system experience (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)

9. Soft Skills

  • Project management
  • Stakeholder communication
  • User training & adoption strategy
  • Documentation and reporting
  • GWS Admin Console proficiency (user management, groups, domains, security)
