Paralegal, Contracts Executive
We are seeking a commercially minded person to support the review, drafting, organisation and administration of commercial contracts within a technical services environment.
The role will assist the Contracts Dept in strengthening contract governance, identifying contractual risks, and ensuring agreements accurately reflect operational and technical requirements.
This is a commercially focused support role suited to someone who is diligent and comfortable working alongside, engineering, operations and sales/project teams in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Review & Drafting
- Review on client and vendor contracts and identify key commercial risks
- Analyse clauses relating to liability, indemnities, insurance, payment terms, shipping, termination and governing law
- Prepare contract mark-ups and suggested amendments
- Draft NDAs, consultancy agreements, service agreements and subcontractor contracts, etc.,
Contract Management
- Maintain a structured contract repository and version control system
- Track contract renewals, expiry dates and key obligations
- Support the development of internal contract templates and checklists
Operational Alignment
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure contracts reflect the scope of work and technical deliverables
- Translate operational risks into appropriate contractual protections
Compliance & Risk Support
- Support insurance compliance checks and subcontractor documentation reviews
- Assist with vendor and client due diligence
- Provide summaries of contractual risks and key obligations for management
Advisory Support
- Prepare internal contract briefings and summaries
- Assist in addressing contractual issues prior to escalation to management for external counsel
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Law, Legal Studies or related discipline
- 2–5 years’ experience in a paralegal or contracts support role
- Exposure to engineering, maritime, offshore, oil & gas, or technical services environments is advantageous
- Familiarity with commercial contracts and risk allocation
