Technology Category Manager
We are seeking an experienced Technology Category Manager to support procurement and sourcing activities across key technology categories, including IT hardware, software, cloud, telecommunications, and IT services. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost optimization while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain category strategies for technology-related spend, including IT hardware, software, cloud, telecom, and IT services.
Partner with IT, Finance, Legal, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective sourcing plans and procurement priorities.
Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFx processes, supplier evaluation, tendering, supplier selection, and contracting approach.
Ensure sourcing activities are conducted in a fair, transparent, and compliant manner.
Negotiate commercial terms, including pricing, service-level agreements, warranties, licensing terms, contract terms, and risk allocations.
Drive measurable savings, cost avoidance, and overall value improvement across assigned categories.
Manage contract compliance, renewal timelines, supplier performance reviews, SLA/KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, data privacy requirements, cybersecurity standards, audit requirements, and regulatory controls.
Analyze category spend and identify cost optimization opportunities, including standardization, supplier consolidation, and demand management.
Monitor market trends, supplier landscape, technology developments, and software licensing changes to support informed sourcing decisions.
Maintain complete sourcing documentation, approval records, procurement files, and audit trails.
Support internal controls, audit preparation, and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Proven experience in technology procurement, IT sourcing, category management, or vendor management.
Strong understanding of technology categories such as software, IT infrastructure, cloud services, telecom, and IT professional services.
Experience managing RFx processes, contract negotiations, supplier evaluation, and stakeholder engagement.
Good understanding of procurement governance, compliance, risk management, and audit requirements.
Strong commercial acumen with experience delivering savings and cost optimization.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, both written and spoken.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Preferred Attributes
Experience in financial services, banking, securities, asset management, or another highly regulated environment would be an advantage.
Knowledge of IT contracts, software licensing models, cloud service agreements, cybersecurity requirements, and data privacy considerations is preferred.
