Responsibilities

About the Role Marine Care Singapore is looking for a driven and experienced Business Operations Manager to work closely with the General Manager (GM) in leading and optimizing our business operations. This role plays a key part in aligning local execution with global strategies, improving operational efficiency, and fostering a strong customer-centric culture across the organization.

Responsibilities

Business Management

  • Collaborate with the GM to execute global strategies and align local operations with company objectives
  • Monitor business performance by analyzing revenue and profitability metrics to ensure targets are met
  • Optimize departmental operations by managing manpower allocation and establishing clear accountability frameworks
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and lead projects to implement process improvements
  • Prepare and deliver regular performance reports and actionable insights to the Global Management Team (GMT)
  • Partner with the GM to oversee overall company performance and strategic initiatives

Financial Oversight

  • Manage company expenditure within approved budgets to maintain financial discipline
  • Work closely with Finance and Sales teams to monitor accounts receivable and cash flow, ensuring liquidity and financial health
  • Oversee compliance and renewal of company licenses and insurance policies to mitigate risks
  • Ensure adherence to financial, regulatory, and corporate governance standards

People & Culture

  • Mentor and support employees across departments to enhance engagement and drive performance improvements
  • Assist in managing performance appraisal processes, training programs, and leadership development initiatives
  • Identify high-potential talent and develop succession plans to secure future leadership pipelines
  • Foster a positive and inclusive culture aligned with the “We CARE” philosophy to promote employee well-being and collaboration
  • Collaborate with HR to implement talent development and retention strategies

Operational Excellence

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure workflows comply with global procedures and industry best practices
  • Promote the adoption and effective use of Quality Management Systems (QMS) to elevate performance standards
  • Monitor compliance with quality standards and risk management protocols to safeguard operations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Proven experience in operations, business management, or a similar leadership role
  • Strong financial acumen demonstrated through budgeting and cost control experience
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to analyze data and drive strategic improvements
  • Experience in service, marine, or technical industries is advantageous
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership
