THE ROLE

Are you the friend everyone turns to for the best cafe, restaurant and travel recommendations? Do you naturally spot trends before everyone else and spend way too much time saving places on Instagram and TikTok? If you’re passionate about storytelling, social media, and creating content people genuinely want to watch, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.

MONO is looking for an Editorial Assistant & Content Creator to join our small, fast-moving creative team. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. One day, you could be filming content at a boutique hotel or new cafe opening; the next, editing reels, researching story ideas, coordinating shoots, or writing about the city’s latest hidden gems.

As a growing team, this role goes beyond a traditional fixed corporate job scope. We’re looking for someone resourceful, proactive, adaptable, and excited to be involved across different aspects of content creation and production. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a collaborative environment, takes initiative, and is genuinely passionate about lifestyle media, storytelling, and digital culture.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Create Content That Connects

Help bring MONO’s voice to life through engaging Instagram captions, overlays, short-form videos, and editorial-style storytelling across digital platforms.

Assist with Editorial & Content Production

Research lifestyle trends, new openings, and story ideas while supporting day-to-day editorial planning, publishing schedules, and content coordination.

Manage Social Media

Support content creation and publishing across Instagram, TikTok, and Xiaohongshu (XHS), with a strong focus on trends, audience engagement, and platform-native storytelling.

Collaborate on Creative Ideas

Work closely with the team to brainstorm fresh concepts, pitch content ideas, assist on shoots, and contribute creatively to campaigns and editorial features.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong writing and communication skills with a sharp eye for detail and storytelling.
• Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, Xiaohongshu (XHS), and current social media trends.
• Basic skills in short-form video editing, photography, and/or videography.
• Passionate about lifestyle, food, travel, culture, and discovering what’s new and noteworthy.
• Organised, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, and willing to contribute beyond a fixed job scope when needed.
• Comfortable assisting on shoots, coordinating schedules, and supporting production logistics.
• Experience with tools such as CapCut and Canva.
• Possess your own car and a valid driver’s license (preferred due to shoot locations and travel requirements).
• Prior experience in media, content creation, marketing, or editorial work is preferred but not mandatory.
• Bonus: Fluent in spoken and written Mandarin.
