Position Overview
EOS Innovation Singapore is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to play a leading role in the development of advanced defence products. This is a senior, hands-on position for an experienced engineer who can lead complex electronics design activities, support a broader engineering team, and help deliver innovative, high-quality solutions in a demanding technical environment.
Primary Duties
The Senior Electronics Engineer will lead electronics design activities within defence product development projects, combining technical leadership with hands-on engineering delivery. The role is responsible for guiding engineers through complex design challenges while also contributing directly to system-level design, integration and problem-solving. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the Senior Electronics Engineer will help ensure electronic solutions meet performance, quality and system requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead electronics design activities across analogue, digital and embedded systems, coordinating engineers to deliver robust, production-ready solutions.
- Design complex mixed-signal circuits for equipment control, system monitoring, communications and network interfacing, with close alignment to embedded software behaviour and system interfaces.
- Develop circuit schematics, multilayer PCB layouts and embedded firmware for MCU-based systems, including low-level hardware interfacing, peripheral control, communications and real-time functionality.
- Work closely with mechanical, software and systems engineers to integrate electronic subsystems and embedded software into complex defence products.
- Translate engineering requirements into design solutions and define and execute verification and validation activities across hardware, firmware and subsystem integration to demonstrate compliance.
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, including design records, interface definitions, test procedures, test reports and manufacturing support documentation, while driving disciplined engineering practices across development and test activities.
- Lead design reviews for critical electronic systems, resolve technical issues, and implement review outcomes to support integration, documentation maturity and project delivery.
- Identify and apply relevant engineering standards and design assurance practices, including EMC, EMI, ESD, safety, reliability and documentation requirements where applicable.
- Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements, refine technical features, communicate design status and support engineering decisions throughout development.
Education and Experience
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with 5+ years of relevant industry experience in electronics development.
- Strong experience with ECAD tools and the development of circuit schematics, multilayer PCBs and embedded firmware for electronic assemblies, including MCU- and FPGA-based designs.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in circuit bring-up, testing, diagnostics and root-cause troubleshooting at board and subsystem level.
- Proven experience taking electronic designs from concept through prototyping, verification and production release.
- Experience in RF circuit design, integration and test would be advantageous.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to lead and contribute effectively in design reviews.
- Clear communicator and effective collaborator.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a project environment.
- Self-motivated and able to manage time and workload effectively.
- Able to work effectively within a defence industry environment.
