Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all operational activities related to bending machines to ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Set up and adjust bending tooling according to technical drawings and job requirements.
• Analyze bending-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize defects and bending errors.
• Perform routine bending operations in accordance with the production plan and quality standards.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to Junior Technicians and Operators to enhance bending skills and workmanship quality.
• Support maintenance activities by carrying out necessary bending jobs when required.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies at all times.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and machine condition in the bending area.

Specific skills and competencies required:

• Strong knowledge of sheet metal bending processes and press brake machine operations.
• Ability to set up and align bending tooling accurately (punches, dies, back gauges).
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
• Good understanding of material properties (steel, stainless steel, aluminum) and bend allowances.
• Ability to identify bending defects and perform root cause analysis to minimize rework and scrap.
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills to resolve machine, tooling, or process-related issues.
• Competent in using measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and angle gauges.

Requirements:

• Minimum SPM/ certificate or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Proven experience operating bending machines (e.g., press brake).
• Strong understanding of bending processes, tooling setup, and material behavior.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve bending-related technical problems.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
