Job description

We are looking for IT systems administrator with strong experience managing server infrastructures and data-center operations across Unix, Linux and Windows platforms. You should be able to effectively plan, install, configure and optimize IT infrastructures to achieve high availability and performance. Proven ability to create and deliver solutions tied to business growth, organizational development and systems/network optimization.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze system performance, including CPU, memory, and storage utilization.
• Manage and maintain files, file systems, and related system operations effectively.
• Apply ITIL principles and Service Management best practices in daily operations.
• Perform basic database administration for MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL environments.
• Install, configure, and maintain open-source technologies and web services such as Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, and Nginx.
• Support network-related activities involving TCP/IP analysis, routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
• Utilize scripting tools including Windows Batch, Python, PowerShell, and Linux Shell scripting for automation and task management.
• Assist in automation initiatives using tools such as Ansible and CHEF.
• Support containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ensure the stability, configuration, and continuous operation of computer systems and virtualization platforms.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain hardware, software, and virtual server environments while integrating automation solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, document findings, prioritize incidents, and evaluate business impact.
• Prepare technical documentation and system specifications to support infrastructure planning and implementation activities.
• Execute and monitor backup processes while supporting data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
• 3-5 years of system administration experience
• System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
• Working knowledge of virtualization, Ovirt, HyperV, VmWare or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
• Experience with scripting and automation tools
• A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
• Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
