Job Summary
The Spa Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality spa treatments and exceptional guest experiences in line with the spa’s standards and brand values. This role requires professional expertise in wellness therapies, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to hygiene, safety, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Experience
- Provide professional spa treatments including massages, body treatments, facials, and other wellness services as trained and certified.
- Conduct thorough guest consultations to understand needs, preferences, and medical conditions before treatments.
- Ensure a warm, welcoming, and personalized guest experience at all times.
- Handle guest feedback and concerns professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
Treatment & Technical Skills
- Perform treatments according to established spa protocols, standards, and timings.
- Maintain consistency in treatment quality and service delivery.
- Recommend appropriate spa treatments, retail products, and wellness programs to guests.
- Stay updated on new treatments, techniques, and product knowledge through ongoing training.
Hygiene, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in treatment rooms and work areas.
- Ensure all equipment, tools, and products are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained.
- Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper handling of linens and products.
- Comply with spa policies, SOPs, and professional ethics.
Operational Support
- Prepare treatment rooms before each session and reset rooms after treatments.
- Assist with spa opening and closing procedures when required.
- Support inventory control by monitoring product usage and reporting shortages.
- Work collaboratively with spa reception and team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in Massage Therapy, Beauty Therapy, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Valid professional license or certification (where applicable).
- Minimum [1–2] years of experience as a Spa Therapist in a hotel, resort, or wellness spa preferred.
- Strong knowledge of massage techniques, body treatments, and basic skincare.
- Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and perform treatments.
