Are you a passionate and creative baker ready to lead? We are seeking a talented and dynamic Head Baker to head our Cake Department. In this role, you will be the captain of our baking team, overseeing daily cake production, driving quality control, and bringing creative dessert ideas to life. Key Responsibilities:
- Production & Decoration: Lead the daily baking, frosting, and decorating of all cakes and pastries, ensuring top-tier consistency and presentation.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of junior bakers and assistants. Manage kitchen rosters and workflows.
- Quality & Hygiene Control: Ensure all products strictly follow standardized recipes and adhere to the highest food safety and kitchen cleanliness standards.
- Inventory & Costing: Monitor stock levels of baking ingredients, manage supplier orders, and actively control food waste/costing.
- R&D: Assist in creating new cake flavors, seasonal menus, and trending dessert designs.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on baking and cake decorating experience (Prior experience as a Senior Baker, Section Leader, or Sous Chef is required).
- Skills: Expert in cake assembly, cream whipping, piping, and modern cake aesthetic/decorating styles.
- Personality: Energetic, responsible, structured, and a strong team leader who enjoys a fast-paced environment.
- Education: Professional Certificate/Diploma in Baking & Pastry Arts or equivalent (Candidates with strong practical portfolios are highly welcome).
- Availability: Willing to work early shifts, weekends, and public holidays based on peak production schedules.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
