Associate Head of Faculty (Early Childhood Care & Education)
About the Role
Asian International College (AIC) is seeking an experienced and passionate Associate Head of Faculty to support the academic leadership and operational excellence of our Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) programmes.
This role will oversee either the English or Mandarin faculty, ensuring high-quality programme delivery, regulatory compliance, and positive learner outcomes. The ideal candidate brings strong academic leadership, deep knowledge of Singapore’s early childhood education landscape, and a commitment to continuous improvement in adult learning.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
Provide academic leadership and operational oversight for the assigned ECCE faculty (English or Mandarin).
Support curriculum planning, programme enhancement, and academic delivery to ensure quality learning experiences.
Mentor and guide lecturers and adjunct faculty to maintain teaching excellence and learner engagement.
Academic Governance & Committees
Serve as a member of Academic and Examination Boards for AIC’s certificate, diploma, and degree programmes.
Contribute to academic reviews, policy discussions, moderation processes, and institutional quality initiatives.
Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure programmes comply with the standards and requirements set by regulatory bodies such as SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), Committee for Private Education (CPE), and the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
Support audits, accreditation processes, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Student & Academic Matters
Review and manage academic matters, including learner feedback, academic appeals, and student progression issues.
Engage Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) where required to support fair and objective review processes.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with internal departments, faculty members, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth programme operations and academic excellence.
Support strategic initiatives, faculty development, and institutional projects as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a closely related discipline.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in the early childhood or education sector.
Strong experience in adult education, academic administration, or faculty leadership within Singapore’s education landscape.
Experience working with WSQ, diploma, or higher education programmes is advantageous.
Knowledge & Competencies
Good understanding of SSG, and ECDA regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead teams, manage academic operations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
