Job Description

Responsibilities

Objectives of the Position

  • Responsible for regional product management of a portfolio of Plastic Additives to meet the financial and strategic objectives of the global business
  • Optimize the regional product portfolio profitability for long term sustainability, with the clear target to earn above cost of capital. Steer demand, supply and pricing for respective products in the region

Responsibilities

1) Strategy:

  • Develop, implement and update the regional product group strategy and tactics for the product portfolio within guardrails from Global Product Management

2) Financial performance: 

  • Responsible for regional cCM1 of product portfolio and where applicable, also for P&L of regional product lines such as Antioxidant Liquids (AOL) or Customer Specific Blends (CSBs).
  • Propose yearly financial targets for the portfolio per sub-region. Monitor the business results versus the budget as well as the long-term strategic path, define and initiate measures to achieve the target

3) Market intelligence and competitiveness:

  • Drive market research and competitive analysis to identify and address market trends, customer needs, and potential opportunities and threats.
  • Accountable for regional demand/supply balancing and volume allocations in case of shortages. Where applicable, accountable for optimization of AOL or CSB supply network in Asia, including raw material sourcing in alignment with EV/S and procurement

4) Portfolio management:

  • Accountable for product portfolio for Asia including compliance with regulatory requirements, product specification, resolution of quality issues and regional inventory.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive innovation that meets the strategic and financial targets of the business. Accountable for regional business cases for new product developments and making recommendations to start/continue/stop product developments.

5) Collaboration:

  • Work closely with global product management, sales, marketing, supply chain, operations, procurement, controlling, QM and PS&R teams to ensure cohesive strategies that support financial and strategic objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages input and engagement from all relevant stakeholders

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent in chemistry, engineering or business-related field
  • Min. 5 years business experience, within both upstream and downstream chemical industry, ideally across various functions such as marketing, sales, product management, R&D, production, controlling
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills. Demonstrated business acumen and ability to make timely, data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders in a matrix organization.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscapes in both upstream and downstream chemical industry.
  • Strong project and change management skills are a plus
  • Experience in plastic industries or additive industries is a plus
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and open mindset
