On behalf of the hiring company, an Original Equipment Maker (OEM) in the built environment, we are looking for a suitable candidate to join them as a Testing & Commissioning (T&C) Engineer.
The Testing & Commissioning (T&C) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all lift and escalator installations are tested, commissioned, and handed over in full compliance with safety regulations, contractual specifications, and company standards. This role plays a critical part in delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality vertical transportation systems to customers.
Testing & Commissioning
- Lead a team of Adjusters to perform functional and safety testing of lift and elevator systems
- Coordinate with Customers to ensure all deliverables related to Testing & Commissioning are accomplished
- Ensure compliance with local codes, international standards (e.g., EN 81, ISO), and manufacturer specifications.)
- Conduct load testing, speed verification, leveling accuracy, and emergency operations checks
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain detailed test procedures, commissioning reports, and handover documentation
- Record and resolve non-conformities and close out punch list items
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with installation teams, project managers, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth commissioning
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers for technical support and troubleshooting
Quality & Safety Assurance
- Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to safety protocols and risk assessments
- Participate in audits and inspections as required
- Attend customer meetings to address any comments on the testing procedure
Technical Support
- Provide on-site troubleshooting and technical guidance during commissioning
- Support training for client representatives or maintenance teams on system operation
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in lift/elevator commissioning or related field
- Strong understanding of lift, escalator, and moving walk systems, control panels, drive systems, and safety mechanisms
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours when required
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Remuneration is pegged to qualification and experience.
