Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Electronics Technician to support in-house electronics repair, bench testing, system integration, and controlled field demonstrations across Malaysia.
This role is electronics-focused, working primarily with low-voltage systems, sensors, connectors, and electronic modules used in subsea, hydrographic, and marine survey equipment.
The technician will be based mainly in the JB workshop, with occasional travel to support demonstrations and short field trials alongside the Business Development team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electronics Repair & Bench Support (Primary Focus)
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic modules, sensor interfaces, connectors, and low-voltage systems.
- Perform component-level fault finding, including continuity checks, signal tracing, and basic solder rework.
- Assist with bench testing, calibration checks, and verification of electronic equipment prior to demos or rentals.
- Support system integration of sensors, cables, connectors, and electronic subsystems under guidance from senior engineers.
- Maintain clear repair records, test results, and service documentation.
2. Field Support & Demonstrations (Secondary)
- Support equipment setup, configuration, and functional testing during customer demonstrations.
- Assist with mobilisation and demobilisation of demo equipment.
- Provide professional technical support during customer engagements, explaining system operation at a functional level.
- Safely handle equipment cases during transport and demos.
3. Workshop Operations & Technical Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean, organised electronics workshop, including ESD-safe practices where applicable.
- Ensure test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies) is maintained and calibrated.
- Manage tools, cables, connectors, spares, and electronic components.
- Support packing, unpacking, and storage of sensitive electronic equipment.
4. Inventory & Asset Support
- Conduct monthly checks of electronic spares, cables, connectors, and test tools.
- Maintain inventory and asset tracking records.
- Support coordination of equipment movement between JB, KL (if applicable), and Singapore HQ.
Requirements
Education & Technical Skills
- Diploma or Certificate in Electronics Engineering, Electronic Systems, Instrumentation, or related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Electronics troubleshooting
- Soldering and rework
- Low-voltage wiring and connectors
- Test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, bench power supply)
- Ability to read basic electronic schematics and block diagrams.
- Familiarity with sensors, signal cables, and electronic interfaces is an advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years in electronics repair, instrumentation, equipment servicing, or similar hands-on technical role.
- Strong fresh graduates with practical electronics skills will be considered.
- Exposure to marine, survey, subsea, or instrumentation equipment is a plus.

- Comfortable working independently in a workshop environment.
- Willing to travel within Malaysia for demos (approx. 20–40%).
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and housekeeping discipline.
