The construction manager supports the project manager in reaching the goals of the project and in construction-related matters. The construction manager is directly responsible for the execution of the construction phase and the related schedule, safety, budget, quality and relationship with the client.
Tasks& Responsibilities:
- Acting as a construction expert in the Feasibility study, Basic and FEED phases.
- Compiling the contracting plan.
- Preparing the contract documents, supervision and coordination of contracts.
- Heading the technical part of the contract negotiations in cooperation with design.
- Planning and implementation of site arrangements.
- Managing the supervisory work of different work types in the installation, construction and start-up phase.
- Reporting on progress and threats to the project manager.
- Taking care of official requirements and supervising compliance with them.
- Closing the site, final reporting and aftercare of construction.
- Taking care of occupational safety responsibility for revising the general guidelines for the implementation of the quality system.
- Responsibility for revising the general guidelines for the implementation of the quality system.
- Resourcing in the execution phase together with the Head of Construction/Projects.
- Ensuring compliance of all construction activities with local authorities.
- Manage and supervise local EPC companies.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or minimum diploma in engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience in Oil and Gas industry in the field of constructions of process plants.
- Experience in Turnaround projects.
- Strong focus on project delivery skills, ability to recognize opportunities and respond to client needs, to network easily with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strongself-leadership skills, hands-on mentality and desire to grow and further develop in your role.
- Willingness to travel as and when needed.
- Should have good skills in spoken and written English.
- Understanding of the challenges and complexities of a project organization (EPC/EPCM)
- Experience in design and maintenance tasks is considered an asset.
- Willing to work on contract assignment.
