We're Hiring: Data Center Engineer!
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Data Center Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical) to join our team in Johor, Malaysia. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background along with experience in managing and optimizing data center operations.

What You'll Do:
- Operate and sustain critical electrical infrastructure, including UPS systems, standby generators, switchgear, and power distribution units (PDUs), to safeguard uninterrupted power supply.
- Manage mechanical cooling systems such as chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, and pumps to hold optimal temperature and humidity within the facility.
- Track real-time facility performance through BMS (Building Management System) and DCIM platforms, acting on alarms and abnormal readings as they arise.
- Carry out scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance, recording all activities within a CMMS such as Maximo.
- Liaise with vendors and contractors throughout planned servicing, equipment upgrades, and emergency repairs.
- Inspect and test fire suppression, leak detection, and environmental monitoring systems on a routine basis.
- Drive incident response during power or cooling disruptions, conducting root cause analysis and applying corrective measures.
- Assist with capacity planning and load management to support new rack deployments and infrastructure growth.
- Keep precise documentation, including single-line diagrams, MOPs/SOPs/EOPs, and asset registers.
- Uphold workplace safety standards, regulatory requirements, and uptime/SLA commitments aligned with Uptime Institute Tier standards.
What We're Looking For:
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data center operations, critical facilities, or mission-critical environments.
- Solid working knowledge of electrical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs) and mechanical systems (chillers, CRAC/CRAH, cooling towers), with familiarity in BMS, DCIM, and CMMS tools and an understanding of Uptime Institute Tier standards and relevant safety codes.
- Certifications such as Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP) or equivalent will be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, clear communication, and willingness to work rotating shifts and respond to after-hours emergencies as part of an on-call roster.
