Responsibilities: -
1. General
- Engage in full life cycle of process engineering, from conceptual design to execution, test, commission, certification and handover.
2. Design and Engineering Stage
- Assume leading role in design and engineering.
- Develop process engineering designs, calculations and create drawings.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and project team on design and system interfaces.
- Ensure design is delivered in accordance with master schedule and within budget;
- Responsible to deliver committed deliverables at each design stage;
- Collaborate with CAD and BIM team to develop drawings and models.
- Prepare bid documents, including scope of work, bid drawings, specification and BOQ;
- Provide guidance to junior engineers.
3. Execution Stage
- Assume leading role for responsible work package;
- Coordinate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors in project delivery;
- Asist EHS department in site safety supervision;
a) Technical
- Lead the responsible work package in design, installation, test and commissioning.
- Manage design change.
- Initiate technical submission to client.
- Review and approve technical and shop drawings submissions from subcontractors.
- Review and approve work method statement submitted by contractors. Seeks EHS department’s advice in safety aspects.
- Initiate RFI to engineering manager, acknowledge by project manager.
b) Construction
- Provide technical advice to construction teams.
- Advice and update construction team in scope of works and any change in scope of works.
c) Commercial
- Liaison with commercial department in cost related issues.
- Verify contractors’ progress claim.
d) Quality
- Provide technical support to quality control team in executing quality control plan. Provide technical specification, inspection test plan forms and checklist to quality controller.
4. Project Closure
- Sign off testing and commissioning forms and result;
- Verify all scope of works are completed;
- Assist quality controller in handover documentation compilation;
- Review and approve operating and maintenance manual submitted by subcontractors.
Job Requirements: -
- Degree in Chemical/ Mechanical/ HVAC/ Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent;
- At least 5 years working experience in the design and construction industry;
- Able to work independently under minimum supervision;
- Highly motivated with strong organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to prioritize to meet strict deadlines;
- Able to operate AutoCAD software, MS Excel, MS Words and MS PowerPoint;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Willing to travel and station at site when necessary.
