The minimum requirements of this role is that you should be familiar with Linux commands and its terminals. RHEL/ RHCSA/ RCHE certified persons are preferred but not a mandatory requirement.
Business Operations:
- 5-day work in office (3:00PM till 12:00AM). Hybrid mode applicable after probation.
- RM900 shift allowance given on top of base pay.
Key Activities:
RedHat Linux Server Operations & Administration
- Support day-to-day Red Hat Linux server operations (user and access management, checking disk space, CPU, memory, restarting services).
- Fix basic login and access issues (including LDAP-related problems).
- Assist in Red Hat Linux patching and upgrade activities during approved maintenance windows.
Virtualization (VMWare) Support
- Support VMware virtual machines (e.g. adding CPU, memory, and disk space).
Automation (Ansible) & Maintenance
- Run Ansible automation jobs for patching, health checks, LEAPP pre-upgrade checks, and Red Hat Linux upgrade readiness.
- Review Ansible job results and resolve job failures.
Ticket Handling & Incident Management
- Work on ServiceNow / JIRA tickets for incidents and service requests.
Secure Access & Compliance
- Access servers securely using CyberArk.
- Follow standard processes, documentation, and security rules.
Mandatory Skills:
We are looking for someone who is able to handle 2nd level RHEL role (experience 2 years minimum and 4 years maximum).
RHEL Server Operations & Maintenance
- Assist in planning and deploying RHEL application servers in production, following defined processes and under close guidance.
- Perform basic maintenance and updates of productive systems, focusing on learning system structures and processes.
- Support technical activities to maintain production operations, helping to ensure system reliability and stability.
- Assist in basic OS monitoring activities and develop skills to identify system behaviour and performance issues under structured guidance.
- Assist in identifying and categorizing deficiencies through regular health checks and contribute to resolving system issues under supervision.
- Participate in server migration projects in a supportive role, learning processes and tools and contributing incrementally.
Incident, Problem & Change Management
- Provide 2nd level support for the responsible IT systems with assistance from experienced colleagues, escalating issues appropriately.
- Observe and participate in the analysis and resolution of incidents and problems (e.g. cancellations, vulnerabilities) to build troubleshooting skills.
- Assist in the implementation of changes and releases within the responsible area, under structured guidance and with limited responsibility.
- Work with ITIL-based ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or JIRA for incident, problem, and change handling.
Documentation & Compliance
- Contribute to the documentation of the systems used (e.g. Asset Database), focusing on accuracy and clarity.
- Support patching and PAM-related processes under close guidance from senior administrators.
Platform & Infrastructure Exposure
- Gain and apply knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), working toward basic certifications such as RHCSA.
- Gain introductory exposure to middleware components (e.g. Tivoli, Backup, Nessus) through learning activities and assigned tasks.
- Build a foundational understanding of OpenShift administration through hands-on learning tasks assigned by mentors.
- Acquire an understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, Google BMS) and assist in supporting RHEL systems on these platforms with hands-on coaching.
- Gain familiarity with VMware and its associated technologies.
Tools, Automation & Scripting
- Begin learning basic programming concepts in Python and use source-code tools such as Git.
- Gain exposure to CI/CD practices and tools (e.g. TeamCity, Jenkins).
- Work under guidance to gain familiarity with APIs such as Red Hat Satellite API, Azure, GCP, VMware APIs, and MS Defender for Endpoint Linux.
- Gain hands-on experience writing small scripts and executing batch tasks to automate repetitive system processes under supervision.
- Perform predefined MS Defender tasks (e.g. configuration changes, scan defect resolution, handling network-related issues) under strict supervision, escalating as required.
