Tech Services Manager (Platform Transformation)

Role Overview:

The Tech Services Manager (Platform Transformation) plays a pivotal role in defining and executing the organisation’s infrastructure and platform transformation roadmap. Reporting to senior management, this role involves overseeing modernization initiatives, ensuring platform resilience, and guiding project delivery to meet strategic objectives. The position requires hands-on leadership, stakeholder engagement, and technical expertise in enterprise infrastructure.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or technology transformation roles
• Strong understanding of modern infrastructure architectures, hybrid cloud, and platform lifecycle management
• Proven experience leading cross-team projects and engaging stakeholders at different seniority levels
• Hands-on exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V, Sangfor (knowledge of DE Infra VMWare is highly desirable)
• Solid knowledge of compute, storage, identity, collaboration, VDI, and endpoint platforms
• Experience operating platforms in regulated environments with security and audit requirements
• Industry certifications such as VMware, Microsoft, Cloud (Azure/AWS), ITIL, or PMP are highly desirable

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the infrastructure and platform transformation roadmap, focusing on virtualization, compute, storage, identity, collaboration, and end-user platforms
• Lead modernization initiatives including platform standardization, consolidation, automation, and lifecycle management
• Drive adoption of cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures, ensuring readiness, governance, and seamless integration with on-premises platforms
• Identify technical debt and develop remediation plans to enhance platform resilience, performance, and cost efficiency
• Provide governance and technical direction for server, virtualization, and storage platforms to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance
• Oversee enterprise virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V, Sangfor) and capacity planning aligned with business growth
• Manage enterprise storage platforms supporting data protection, replication, and disaster recovery objectives
• Oversee the evolution of identity and collaboration platforms, including Active Directory, Exchange (on-prem/hybrid), and Microsoft 365
• Lead transformation initiatives for end-user computing, including VDI, remote access, and secure workforce enablement
• Govern mobility and endpoint management platforms (MDM/MAM), ensuring security, compliance, and optimal user experience
• Lead and execute complex, cross-platform transformation projects such as upgrades, migrations, and technology rollouts
• Ensure projects align with enterprise architecture, security policies, and regulatory requirements
• Enforce disciplined change, incident, and problem management practices across platforms
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service performance related to platform technologies
• Report on project status, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior management

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Proven experience in infrastructure and platform transformation roles
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms, especially VMware vSphere (knowledge of DE Infra VMWare preferred)
• Ability to lead cross-team projects and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Experience operating in regulated environments with strong security and compliance standards
