The Campus Development Office (CDO) is responsible for building project development and property maintenance. Our Office provides comprehensive professional services across a vast array of building project types, including the institutional, office and student hostel categories. Our responsibilities range from master planning to architecture to interior design, covering all stages of the development process, from the client’s brief and design requirements to project management and on-site supervision until project completion. The CDO also provides facility maintenance and building repair services to ensure the campus operates smoothly at all times.

The appointee will report to the Director and Senior Manager of the Campus Development Office. S/he will play a key role in supporting the Contracts & Costs (C&C) Team in delivering campus capital projects and A&A works, with a focus on contract administration and quantity surveying duties, including cost planning, procurement support and financial control.

Duties

  • Support the preparation of consultancy agreements and related contractual documents;
  • Assist in monitoring consultancy services, providing professional advice to meet statutory requirements and resolve possible issues;
  • Prepare and update project budget estimates and cash flow projections; compile supporting breakdowns, cost analyses, and summary reports;
  • Provide support on tender and procurement strategies;
  • Assist in preparing tender cost estimates, participate in tender assessments, and oversee project cost control;
  • Support monitoring and advising on project cost control;
  • Assist in preparing final accounts; conduct cost appraisals, claim assessments, and prepare reports; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, with MRICS/MHKIS or an equivalent qualification;
  • At least 3 years of post-qualification relevant experience;
  • A valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as a “Green Card”);
  • Extensive experience in large development projects in Hong Kong and Mainland China;
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CostX, AutoCAD and Revit;
  • Self-motivation for performance enhancement, with a proven ability to complete tasks within tight project schedules;
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills; and
  • Substantial experience in higher education institutions and/or in managing government subvention projects is preferred.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
