Responsibilities
JOB SCOPE
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models to support insurance business requirements. Responsible for translating business needs into robust data structures, ensuring models are extensible, high-performing, and aligned with industry standards such as ACORD. Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver data solutions that enable analytics, reporting, and operational efficiency.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work with business stakeholders to understand insurance business processes, requirements, and data needs.
· Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for insurance applications, ensuring scalability and flexibility.
· Apply the company insurance data model standards where appropriate to enhance interoperability and future-proofing.
· Analyze source data, perform gap analysis, and recommend improvements to data structures.
· Document data models, definitions, relationships, and metadata for both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and IT teams to integrate data models into data pipelines and systems.
· Ensure data models support regulatory, security, and compliance requirements.
· Participate in strategic planning for data architecture, including data warehouse and data lake initiatives.
· Review and assess technical requirements for projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability.
· Stay updated with industry trends, insurance data standards, and best practices in data modeling.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Qualification
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or relevant studies.
· Certified Data Model is an advantage.
Experience
· Minimum 3 years of experience in data modeling, preferably within the insurance domain.
· Experience with ACORD insurance data model is an advantage.
· Solid understanding of insurance business processes and data requirements.
· Experience in designing and deploying scalable data models for large-scale projects.
· Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure, Google Cloud or AWS) is an advantage.
· Experience working with both technical and business stakeholders. Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
· Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar).
· Strong grasp of data architecture, data integration, data quality, and data governance concepts.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Ability to document and communicate complex data models to diverse audiences.
· Highly proactive, independent, and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
· Willingness to accept significant responsibility and accountability.
· Commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with insurance data standards and modeling best practices.
Pay: RM11,000.00 - RM16,000.00 per month
