The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at a construction site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The role coordinates workers, subcontractors, materials, and site activities while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Site Operations
- Manage daily construction activities on site
- Ensure work progresses according to project schedule
- Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site workers
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and consultants
- Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Resolve technical and operational issues on site
Quality Control
- Ensure work meets design specifications and quality standards
- Conduct site inspections and monitor workmanship
- Ensure compliance with drawings and contract documents
Health & Safety
- Enforce site safety policies and procedures
- Conduct safety briefings and toolbox meetings
- Ensure compliance with local health & safety regulations
Resource Management
- Manage manpower, materials, and equipment
- Track material usage and prevent wastage
- Coordinate deliveries and site logistics
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain site records, progress reports, and daily logs
- Report project progress to senior management
- Ensure proper documentation of inspections and approvals
Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Experience
- Typically 3–10 years of construction/site management experience
- Experience managing construction teams and subcontractors
