Responsibilities
As a Guidewire Developer at If Insurance in the non-life insurance policy administration domain, your primary focus will be on the design, configuration, development, and unit testing of solutions using Guidewire PolicyCenter. Key Responsibilities: • Contribute at every stage of the software development lifecycle. • Configure and customize PolicyCenter functionalities to meet specific business requirements, ensuring accurate and efficient processes. • Design, implement, and maintain Gosu-based applications. • Analyze user requirements to clearly define business objectives. • Envision and define system features and functionality, actively participating in workshops. • Ensure that application designs align with business goals. • Develop and test software, participating in peer code reviews. • Identify and resolve any technical issues, proficient in debugging within integrated development environments (IDE). • Develop technical designs for application development and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. • Write well-designed and testable code.
Qualifications:
Technical Requirements (Must Have): • Proven experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter • 5+ years development experience with GOSU. • Has good knowledge of source control systems such as Git Technical Requirements (Good to Have): • Knowledge of Java and/or Gosu programming language • Good exposure to REST / SOAP • Familiar with CI/CD such as Jenkins • Basic knowledge of insurance products and processes • Experience in any Guidewire Core applications
Soft Skills Requirements: • Proactive, asks a lot of questions, has concerns, voices out issues. • Helps and works well with junior team members, contributes to team efforts, and is easy to approach. • Communicates effectively within and outside the team
Education:
B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical field.
