Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Responsible for the qualification of new tools, processes, and products. This includes conducting incoming inspections, accepting newly fabricated tools and related hardware, and setting up and operating processes and equipment required to generate qualified products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifies new tools, processes, and products through inspection and acceptance of newly fabricated tools and related hardware.
Sets up and operates various processes and equipment to successfully qualify new parts and tools, endorsing them for buy-off.
Characterizes processes, establishes key metrics and capabilities to define or validate process limits, and identifies and resolves process and tooling issues.
Defines, executes, and validates projects for continuous improvement and implements these improvements into the process in coordination with the Process Engineer.
Provides timely tool quality updates to the sales department, monitors the percentage of tools that fail validation, and communicates rework needs due to design errors to DE’s and fabrication errors to QA and purchasing.
Establishes the qualification process flow, procedures, and production buy-off criteria for new tooling endorsement.
Defines optimal winding and vision inspection parameters for each new part number.
Executes qualification procedures and production buy-off for endorsement.
Performs and follows qualification procedures and production buy off for endorsement.
Establishes key metrics, capabilities, and process parameters from qualification through setup to high-volume manufacturing (HVM).
Implements established improvements in the process in collaboration with the Process Engineer.
Performs setup audits for production part numbers to ensure high-quality products and minimize downtime due to SOP violations.
Supports production by addressing machine redlights related to setup and vision issues
Monitors the percentage of tools that fail validation
Skills and Knowledge:
Utilize measurement equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
Possess and in-depth knowledge of our technical process tooling, die, press, mask etc. for adherence to our manufacturing procedures.
Possess excellent trouble-shooting skills.
Good communication skills to work effectively with all areas.
Team-leadship abilities for most effective use of personnel and equipment.
Maintain, follow and enforce our safety policies and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal English skills
Utilize a PC and various software programs.
Physical Demanding Works:
Physical ability to perform duties of the job which includes the ability to: lift up to 40 pounds
Be on your feet for 10 hours. Requires walking and standing on concrete floors (for prolonged periods).
Working in a fast paced, demanding, and high noise environment.
Work at PC and Monitor.
