SONT Photonics Sdn. Bhd. Hiring! Full Time Manufacturing - Process Engineer (Fresh Graduates Encouraged to Apply) in Pulau Pinang, Earn up to MYR 7,000 - Ricebowl

Job Responsibilities:

• Support and optimize manufacturing processes for optical module assembly, alignment, testing, and packaging.
• Assist in process setup, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement on the production floor.
• Monitor and analyze key process indicators such as yield, scrap rate, cycle time, and process stability.
• Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance (QA), and Equipment teams to resolve process and product quality issues.
• Support fiber alignment processes, optical testing, and precision assembly activities where required.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
• Assist in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including process validation and production ramp-up.
• Conduct root cause analysis for manufacturing defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and process optimization.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with ISO standards, ESD control, and cleanroom requirements.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties related to manufacturing and process engineering as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Optical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering roles will have an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of optical module manufacturing, fiber optics, or precision assembly processes is an advantage.
• Familiar with manufacturing processes, process control, and production workflow.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to work with production, quality, and engineering teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Experience with ERP / MES manufacturing systems is an added advantage.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, as well as problem-solving abilities; basic listening and speaking skills in Mandarin are required.
