Job Summary
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Control Advisor (DC Advisor) to support engineering change management and product release activities within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for processing engineering change orders (ECO/ECR), maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), managing material master data, and ensuring accurate implementation of engineering changes into MRP/SAP systems. The ideal candidate should possess strong document control knowledge, technical understanding of engineering documentation, and the ability to coordinate effectively across Engineering, Operations, and Purchasing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the release process for new products, product derivatives, and engineering changes related to existing products and manufacturing processes.
- Create and process Change Orders (CO), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Engineering Change Requests (ECR) to support product and document releases.
- Track and monitor Change Orders in progress, ensuring timely follow-up with relevant stakeholders to meet project timelines and priority requirements.
- Create and maintain material masters, documents, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) within SAP/MRP systems.
- Maintain detailed and accurate product structures, part numbers, BOMs, and engineering documentation records.
- Process engineering changes using PLM and EPDM systems while ensuring documentation completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal procedures.
- Implement approved engineering changes into SAP/MRP systems and coordinate with cross-functional teams for effective execution.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams to ensure proper implementation and disposition of engineering changes.
- Support document control activities including document revision updates, version control, and audit readiness.
- Review and update engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documents based on engineer markups and redline changes.
- Perform minor drawing modifications and document edits using SolidWorks or related CAD software.
- Ensure compliance with document control procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical fields.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in document control, ECO processing, BOM management, material master creation, or engineering change implementation within manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOMs), part numbering systems, and engineering change management processes.
- Experience using SAP, MRP systems, PLM, EPDM, or related document control systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience with SolidWorks is required; exposure to AutoCAD, Pro/E, Visio, or FileMaker will be an added advantage.
- Ability to perform minor drawing modifications and document updates based on engineering markups.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, precision engineering, or industrial manufacturing environments is preferred.
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
